Manchester United are in a spot of bother in real life, but they’re a more than decent squad in EA FC 25.

Given their popularity in reality, the red side of Manchester is often a popular pick among fans. In terms of modes like Manager Career, Manchester United can be an enjoyable choice for many. If you’re someone who loves to be competitive, you can try out the following tactics, which will help you to get the most out of your default squad. With this setup, you can also make better choices when it comes to transfer incomings and outgoings.

Best EA FC 25 formation and roles for Manchester United

While the club may underperform in real life, the default squad is more than decent to help you win consistently. While you can continually improve the team with transfers, here’s the best possible layout you can have with the default squad.

Formation – 4-2-3-1 wide

Tactical Preset: Custom

Build-Up Style: Balanced (You could try short passing as well, but balanced is more flexible).

Defensive Approach: Balanced

Line Height: 60 (reduce this to 50 if you’re struggling in defense)

He can also develop into a wonderful talent in Manager Career, so that’s something to keep in mind. On the wings, I have Marcus Rashford on the left and Alejandro Garnacho on the right.

You can also consider Amad Diallo on the right, but his starting overall rating is low. If he has a good season with Manchester United in real life, his base rating will go up in EA FC 25. For now, Garnacho and Rashford are the better pair.

Bruno has Playmaker++, so I have used him in the same role. In a 4231 setup, your CAM also operates well as a playmaker rather than as a shadow striker. Behind him, Mainoo and Ugarte will provide defensive shape as double pivots. You’ll want them to have Holding and Defend, which is a perfect combination for both of them.

You could make a few more tweaks in defense than what’s mentioned here. If you want to emphasize the defensive side more, play both the RB and LB as fullbacks. If you do that, they will tuck closely with your two CBs and concentrate more on defense. I like to have overlapping WBs, and hence, both of them are in the wingback role.
