The Shorekeeper is the first five-star Limited Support Resonator introduced into Wuthering Waves, and as a support, she comes with a slew of powerful buffs. However, while support characters are always valuable assets to any account, is Shorekeeper really worth spending your hard-earned currency on?
Should you pull The Shorekeeper in Wuthering Waves?
As always, some nuances must be considered when this question is asked. If you’re looking for a quick and dirty answer: Shorekeeper is an optional pull because the current hardest content in the game does not require you to have her to be completed. Is Shorekeeper extremely powerful? Absolutely. Is she an account necessity? No, she isn’t. Consider the following.
Before the release of Shorekeeper, Verina was the sole five-star support/healer in the game, making her incredibly valuable. Players typically included Verina in every team composition because her damage buffs significantly enhanced her teammates’ performance with minimal investment. Shorekeeper presents a similar dynamic. You donāt need to heavily invest in her to achieve a strong alternative to Verina.
However, Shorekeeper does value Energy Recharge massively more thanks to key components of her kit scaling off the stat, so you do actually want to invest in Shorekeeper as much as possible to ensure you get her full effectiveness. To some, this may be considered a negative, but a fully invested Shorekeeper is quite a bit stronger than Verina in the supporting role thanks to her extremely consistent healing and more potent damage buffs.
Shorekeeper isn’t a direct replacement for Verina though, as the hardest content in the game requires at least three teams. Ideally, having both Shorekeeper and Verina is far better than relying on just one due to the team requirements. Additionally, Verinaās buffs activate faster compared to Shorekeeper, making her a better fit for certain team compositions. Her quick buffing speed and off-field damage output remain valuable, especially for Jinhsi teams, which still prefer Verina for these very reasons.
The decision to pull for Shorekeeper ultimately hinges on your current support options though, particularly if you already own Verina. While having a second, effectively stronger version of Verina can and will be advantageous, itās essential to evaluate your account status. Consider these questions:
- Are you struggling with hard content in Wuthering Waves using only Verina?
- Do you even have Verina on your account?
If you find yourself facing challenges in tough content, then pulling for Shorekeeper is a wise choice. Similarly, if you donāt have Verina at all, Shorekeeper becomes a much more valuable asset. However, if you’re managing well and already possess Verina, the need for Shorekeeper may not be as pressing, despite what some may claim. Remember that Shorekeeper is a featured character and is rather expensive. Unless you really need her, I recommend holding off on spending your precious Asterites if you’re already able to get by now.
