How to unlock and use Bind ability in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Enemies or boulders in the way? Simply drop them off a cliff

Princess Zelda is the hero this time around in the latest title, Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. With the power of the Tri Rod, she can create echoes to solve puzzles and take on monsters.

But Echoes aren’t the only power Zelda has, even if they are the most impressive. Zelda receives another special ability, Bind, and with it, she can move objects anywhere she wants. Here’s how you unlock the Bind ability, and how to use it.

How to get the Bind ability in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

The Bind ability can be unlocked inside the first dungeon you’ll enter in the game, the Suthorn Ruins, inside of the first Rift. The game will naturally direct you to where you need to go, so you don’t need to worry about missing it.

After escaping the castle and making your way through Suthorn Village, Tri will direct you towards the entrance to the Rift. Inside, you’ll make your way toward the building where the game started. Inside here is where a very large rock will be blocking your way to a treasure chest. Walk up to it and interact with it.

Tri will appear and give you the Bind ability. This will allow you to pick up an item, and it will mimic Zelda’s movements. For instance, when you pick up the large boulder blocking the path, walk around and drop the boulder into the pit nearby to remove the obstacle to the treasure chest.

Once you’ve unlocked it, this ability will remain available to you to use wherever you want.

Once unlocked, press the X button to get it ready to use the Bind ability, and hit the A button once you’ve targeted which item you’d like to Bind. It will then glow green and will mimic Zelda’s movements.

You won’t be able to use Bind on every object you see, however, when you are able to use it, it’s mighty handy for moving obstacles, unearthing treasure, and even throwing enemies off of cliffs.

Since you unlock Bind early in the game, you’ll be able to enjoy using it to solve all sorts of puzzles. It can be easy to forget about it with how powerful the best Echoes are, but since some items are too tall to build up to or too large to move around, Bind is perfect for the job. Don’t neglect this ability that Tri has so generously gifted you.
