Cozy diorama-building game Tiny Glade is now out on Steam with stellar reviews

It's a glade, it's tiny, and you get to turn it into a cozy castle!

As promised a little while ago, Tiny Glade is finally out on Steam, and boy howdy is it a doozy. This beautiful little diorama-focused city-building game does away with management, combat, and objectives altogether. Regardless, its Overwhelmingly Positive review status on Steam promises something truly special and unique.

This isn’t the first time we’re seeing Tiny Glade in action, of course. Just a few months back, Paula found herself absolutely loving her time with the Tiny Glade demo available over on Steam (and it’s still around, if you want to check it out). Now, with Tiny Glade out and about in its 1.0 build as of September 23, we can verify that its charm isn’t a one-trick pony. In fact, early adopters are so happy with this game that it’s already enjoying an awesome Overwhelmingly Positive review rating, with 96% of reviewers loving it.

Tiny Glade is enjoying ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews on day one

Tiny Glade‘s acclaim isn’t just a passing fad, either. On Steam alone, the game has already been reviewed over 1,700 times. Contextualize this with the information that 96% of these reviews are positive, and I reckon the picture of just how good Tiny Glade is should be crystalizing by now.

And, honestly, I can see where the joy is coming from. Tiny Glade isn’t about the challenges of managing a troupe of survivors in an icy hellscape. It’s not a game where you plan and execute heists. Heck, it doesn’t even have a visually pleasing gimmick to its name. Tiny Glade has oodles of charm, however, and its deliberate choice to focus on pure customization and free-form city-building is paying off with dividends.

When even the simplest modern game wants to task you with saving the world or doing something ridiculously grandiose and dangerous, it’s a lovely change of pace to play something way, way simpler and humbler than that. Tiny Glade reminds me of the awesome Dorfromantik, in fact. It’s one of those games you can just pick up and play and, heck, even if you’re not doing all that well, the game still presents you with something pleasing and enjoyable.

Tiny Glade can be found on Steam for the very agreeable price of 14,79€, though note that there’s currently a 15% launch discount still running, so you can save a few Euro if you’re quick about it. Though there’s no official support for the Steam Deck available at this time, the game is playable on the device and runs reasonably well. So, if you wanna kick back on the couch and rest your brain, you can do exactly that.
