How to unlock the Gas Mask in Satisfactory 1.0 & use it

The Gas Mask’s unlocking process has slightly changed with the release of the Satisfactory 1.0 update.

The Gas Mask is an important gear in Satisfactory as it helps you to breathe and save your health points from depleting in an area filled with toxic gas. If you are jumping on to the game after the 1.0 update, you can’t unlock it from the HUB Terminal anymore.

How to unlock Gas Mask in Satisfactory

The Gas Mask now unlocks from the MAM, and is present under the Mycelia Research tree:

• Complete the first node by depositing 5x Mycelia.
• Complete the second node, Fabric, by depositing 25x Mycelia and 100x Biomass.
• Then you’d be able to unlock the Gas Mask node by spending 10x Coal, 50x Fabric, and 50x Steel Pipes.

Mycelia is a fungi-like substance that resembles a mushroom and you can find them scattered all over the map.

How to craft a Gas Mask

To craft a Gas Mask in Satisfactory, all you need to do is:

• Head over to the Equipment Workshop.
• Have 50x Fabric, 10x Copper Sheet, and 10x Steel Pipe in your inventory.
• Deposit all the materials and wait for a few seconds for the Gas Mask to get crafted.

How to use a Gas Mask in Satisfactory

To use a Gas Mask, you have to equip it in your Head slot. Now whenever you go to an area filled with green-colored toxic gas, it will protect you. You must also carry many Gas Filters with you as one Gas Filter will get drained every 45 seconds.

To craft a Gas Filter, you need 2x Fabric, 10x Coal, and 2x Iron Plates. The more Gas Filters you have, the longer you can stay and explore those toxic areas.
