Destiny 2 Line in the Sand god roll – Best perks and attachments

I don't think you need an energy rifle to draw a line in some sand, but to each their own.

While the new Vex-looking weapons of Destiny 2’s first Episode are one of the highlights, that doesn’t mean you should ignore some of the reprised weapons and their returning perks. These weapons, with their refreshed perks, pack a massive punch.

Just look at the Martyr’s Retribution, for example, which can roll with Heal Clip and Incandescent. That’s a nasty combo. Another solid weapon returning is a linear fusion rifle of all things. Here’s the god roll for Destiny 2’s Line in the Sand linear fusion rifle.

The Line in the Sand rocks the Precision Frame archetype like all its linear fusion brethren. This causes the iconic single shot of the weapon type but also makes recoil more predictably vertical and easier to control. While this doesn’t give the weapon a huge stat bonus, it does let us pick a roll that feels good instead of playing into certain strengths. With all that in mind, we want the following setup:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Battery: Accelerated Coils
  • Perk 1: Clown Cartridge
  • Perk 2: Bait and Switch

Arrowhead Brake is a great barrel overall, reducing that recoil even further and improving handling a touch. Accelerated Coils lowers the damage a little bit, but increases the charge speed a ton to overall give more DPS. Clown Cartridge might function off a random chance, but 10-50% of the mag overflowed is still great. Finally, Bait and Switch lets you weave the Line in the Sand within your other weapons for a nice damage buff.

If you want to swap something out, some people prefer Rapid Hit over Clown Cartridge. This perk causes precision hits to increase reload speed and stability. Another fan-favorite perk is Firing Line over Bait and Switch, but this is better for boss DPS with a team.
