Strange Alien Matter or SAM Ores has found a new purpose after the release of the Satisfactory 1.0 update and is now quite a useful resource during the late-game phase in your journey.

Unlike other ores such as Iron or Copper, SAM is the rarest resource to find in Satisfactory. These resources are located in some of the starting regions in the game, and we have listed all the locations below.

How many types of SAM Ores are there?

In Satisfactory 1.0, SAM Ores appear in three rarities:

• Pure
• Normal
• Impure

All SAM Ore locations in Satisfactory 1.0

Grass Fields

In Grass Fields, you can find SAM Ore mostly in the southern region, located underground. These are the coordinates of the place: -24066, 269858. 134 meters below the surface, you can find Normal SAM Ores with the help of a Miner.

Rocky Desert

The Rocky Desert has a single Normal SAM Ore spot and lacks any pure or impure spots. Head over to the -182183, -142369 coordinates, 17 meters below the surface to mine this resource.

Northern Forest

There are only two SAM Ores to find in the Northern Forest region. The location marked in green signifies a Pure SAM Ore location, so you must opt for that as the yield will be a lot more than the Impure one in red.

Here are the coordinates of the Pure SAM Ore location in the Northern Forest: 82559, -219609.

Dune Desert

Coming to the Dune Desert, you can find one Normal and one Impure SAM Ore location. Go for the Normal ore as the yield will be higher, and here are its coordinates: 172559, -285517.

How to mine SAM Ores in Satisfactory 1.0

Mining SAM Ores is very simple. All you need to do is set up a Miner at the locations we have listed above.

You may also tame a Lizard Doggo as they will fetch you these rare resources occasionally.

What are the uses of SAM Ores?

SAM Ores in their native state are useless and you need to convert them to Reanimated SAM first. From there, convert the Reanimated SAM to SAM Fluctuators which are used to craft Portals and Converters.
