How to get Shuri’s Black Panther Claws in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4

At least they're fun to use.

Fortnite’s Marvel collaboration event is full of interesting weapons and well-known characters to talk to, with Shuri’s Black Panther Claws being a late addition to the party.

While they weren’t available during the first few weeks of the event, you can now find them by checking specific chest types during your matches.

Shuri’s Black Panther Claws are a drop from Avenger’s chests around the Fortnite map. While they’re not a guaranteed spawn, they appear about as often as Captain America’s Shield, making them likely to spawn after opening a few.

You can also obtain them by defeating players holding the claws. Doing this is particularly helpful for completing Doom’s quests, as one of the requirements for unlocking his skin style and other cosmetics is claiming Shuri’s Black Panther Claws from another person. Although not every player is guaranteed to have the claws, you can look out for anyone holding and attacking with them.

How to use Shuri’s Black Panther Claws

Unlike regular guns, Shuri’s Black Panther Claws have multiple attack styles, ranging from slashing in front of you to pouncing on your foes and dishing out quick claw swipes. You can also supercharge your claws if your kinetic energy is full, allowing you to deal around 45 damage per hit.

I’ll just say it now: these claws are situational. Since they have no ranged attack capabilities, you have to rely on the speed boost from supercharging to reach your enemies. However, you can also achieve this using War Machine’s hover jets, limiting their usefulness.

Another downside is their major weakness against ranged attacks, which make up almost all of Fortnite’s fights. If someone spots you from far away, they can use guns to eliminate you before you can reach them. Shuri’s Black Panther Claws are really only helpful for completing quests or sneaking up on someone and quickly defeating them.
