In the fast-paced world of gaming news, it’s always nice to take a breather with a low-key, artsy story every once in a while.

First up, oZEPPELINo over on the Sprite Stitch Board! forums made a nifty project that I would love to steal and hang up in my office. Combining sticker labels, 1/4″ foam board for backing, and an Epson ink jet printer, they created a marvelous Super Mario World sprite of Mario punching Yoshi in the back of the head.

Hopefully I didn’t just blow your mind with that last remark — it took me years to realize Mario was in fact hitting Yoshi to make the poor creature stick out his tongue. Anyway, the other project, a Super Mario Bros. 3-style quilt of Tanooki Mario, is a bit more wholesome. I want one!
