How to 1v1 in Brawl Stars

The ultimate showdown.

The many events of Brawl Stars generally encompass multiple player-based battles, including 3v3, 5v5, and free-for-all. The only thing missing from the collection are the competitive 1v1 matches, which aren’t as apparent as the others. Fortunately, there’s a way to set up a 1v1 match in Brawl Stars, and we’re here to explain how.

How to set up a 1v1 match in Brawl Stars

To start a 1v1 match in Brawl Stars, follow these steps:

  1. Add a friend via the Friends button or invite an online player
  2. Select the three-line button at the top-right corner of the screen
  3. Hit ‘Friendly Battle’
  4. Invite the other player
  5. Turn off the remaining player sections
  6. Press ‘Play’

Locate the Friends button on the right side of the main screen, which features a smiley face icon. Enter their Supercell ID or use a QR code to add them to your list. Alternatively, you can see if there’s anyone else online for a quick invite.

Then, select the Friendly Battle section, displaying several spots for the Brawlers. Since you’re making a 1v1 match, take off the bots by pressing the power buttons. Choose any map or mode that you desire and hit play. It’s best to pick the ones designed for solos, such as the Showdown modes. The rest mainly involve 5v5 or 3v3, so check their description first to avoid choosing these options.

For further customization, press the wrench icon on the left to turn on/off various items and enemies, such as Energy Drinks, Angry Robo, or Meteor Shower. However, some modifications cannot be changed, specifically the number of rounds and time duration.

Keep in mind that Friendly Battles do not provide any trophies or rewards, as they are primarily for practice matches or a good old-fashioned showdown. It also allows you to gain control of a fully upgraded Brawler for maximum performance. Set up your character build and test out your strength to see who prevails in the Brawl Stars 1v1 match!
