How to get Moon Fruit in Fields of Mistria

Why is it not called Sun Fruit?

There are a lot of forageables in Fields of Mistria, and they all spawn during specific seasons. It can be hard to know where to look, and at first, you may find yourself frustrated if you can’t track them down, especially when it comes to something like the Moon Fruit.

Moon Fruit is a forageable that can be particularly difficult to locate, but it’s needed for a couple of Request Board tasks, as well as some recipes for meals that villagers love receiving as a gift (such as Moon Fruit Cake for Juniper).

Where to find Moon Fruit in Fields of Mistria

Technically speaking, Moon Fruit can spawn anywhere around Mistria in the Fall. I’ve foraged it in the Western Ruins, The Narrows, and on the Eastern Road. However, there is one place where Moon Fruit is guaranteed to spawn — in the courtyard where the Wishing Well is located.

This location is on the eastern side of the Eastern Road map, and, to begin with, it’s blocked by a large boulder. You’ll need to upgrade your Pickaxe to at least a Copper version before you can get past this obstacle.

To get a Copper Pickaxe, you have a couple of options, but both of them require you to get your Town Rank to Stone (Renown level 10) before you can proceed. You can either gather Copper Ore on floors 1 to 19 in the Mines and craft one yourself, for which you’ll need 40 Copper Ore, or purchase one at the Blacksmith for 1,000 Tesserae after unlocking the Mines themselves.

Once you’ve got a Copper Pickaxe, you can break through the boulder and enter the courtyard. It’s worth remembering that once you harvest the Moon Fruit you find here in the Fall, you’ll need to wait three days for it to spawn again.

How to use Moon Fruit in Fields of Mistria

First and foremost, you should immediately donate a Moon Fruit to the Museum in order to fill out the Fall Foraging collection of the Flora Wing, but Moon Fruit also has a couple of other uses.

At some point during Fall, you can pick up a Request Board quest from Juniper asking for a single Moon Fruit. Completing this and giving one to her will reward you with the Moon Fruit Cake recipe, which is one of her loved gifts.

Moon Fruit Cake is a level 20 recipe and you’ll need a Tier 2 Kitchen in order to cook it, or you can otherwise use the one in the Sleeping Dragon Inn. You’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 Moon Fruit
  • 1 Honey
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Flour
