How to find and use Med-Mist in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3

A powerful healing item is back once more.

Healing items are among the most important parts of winning Fortnite matches and getting a victory royale. After all, taking damage is inevitable no matter how skilled you are, and being able to get your shields and health back can be the difference between a win and a loss. While you may already be familiar with shield potions and medkits, Med-Mist is one of the most powerful healing items you can use, especially if you play in squads mode.

Where to find Med-Mist in Fortnite

Med-Mist is an uncommon-grade item found as chest loot, floor loot, and drops from other players. Like weapons, shield potions, and other consumables, it can be randomly found around the Fortnite map as you play your matches.

Why is it hard to find sometimes, then? Med-Mist occasionally leaves and enters Fortnite’s item vault, making it only available for certain seasons before disappearing for a while. Previously, it was unvaulted from Chapter 3, Season 1, until Chapter 4, Season 6, before entering the vault again for a few months. Shortly after the introduction of Chapter 5, Season 3, Med-Mist was unvaulted. In other words, if you notice that you can’t find any after a few months despite playing multiple matches, there’s a good chance it went back into Fortnite’s item vault.

How to use Med-Mist in Fortnite

Med-Mist is a healing item in Fortnite that allows you to restore health for you or your squad members. Holding left-click or your attack button with Med-Mist equipped lets you heal yourself, while holding right-click or your aim button targets your friends.

That’s right. Med-Mist is a versatile healing item that allows you to heal yourself and your squad members. Even if you’re a solo player, Med-Mist’s 150 health capacity is much more than you’ll get from one medkit or several bandages. However, much like Flowberry Fizz, it takes a few seconds to go from low health to max, so you’ll want to stay out of combat while using it unless you have no other choice.
