As you progress your Kingsmarch settlement in the new Path of Exile 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur update, you’ll eventually unlock the Port. At the Port, you can have up to 3 Ships each equipped with up to 6 Workers that will ship resources back and forth between other settlements in exchange for resources. We’ve put together a comprehensive Shipping Guide for Path of Exile 3.25 detailing how Ships work and the best strategies for using them.
How Shipping works in PoE
In Path of Exile, the Sailing mechanic at the Port in Kingsmarch acts as a mini-game where you send various resources you’ve accumulated to various other settlements in exchange for rewards including gear, currency, and more. The more resources you ship, the bigger the potential reward. However, the bigger the shipment, the more unwanted attention you will attract. When sending a shipment, you’ll notice a red bar filling up next to the resources you are sending. The higher this bar, the higher the chance of some altercation during the shipping process, which can result in lesser rewards.
What are Favored Resources when Shipping?
When you pick the settlement to ship resources too, you’ll see a couple of Favored Resources listed, with different resources for each settlement. Alongside the listing is also the amount and the bonus you get for providing the favored resource. Each favored resource you ship will earn you additional Favor for that shipment, increasing the rewards you get for that order.
Fulfilling a Shipping order with all of the favored resources that the settlement is requesting will earn you a guaranteed random Rare Item, but will also complete that Favoured Resources request. When this happens, the next time you check that same settlement, they will have a higher cap on the Favoured Resources you can send them. Therefore, it’s recommended that you keep fulfilling Favored Resources requests of a settlement to increase the amount of Favor you can procure with each shipment to them, thus increasing the rewards you can obtain.
What does Thaumaturgic Dust do?
Once you unlock the Disenchanter at Kingsmarch, you can break down items into Thaumaturgic Dust. You can then add the Thaumaturgic Dust to your shipments which acts as a multiplier, increasing the total Shipment Value for that shipment. In total, there are four unique amounts of Thaumaturgic Dust you can send to add specific modifiers:
Thaumaturgic Dust Sent | Added Shipment Value Multiplier |
10 Thaumaturgic Dust | x 1.5 |
55 Thaumaturgic Dust | x 2 |
520 Thaumaturgic Dust | x 2.5 |
8150 Thaumaturgic Dust | x 3 |
All Shipping Ports Rewards
Each Port you ship to will yield different rewards based on the resources you send them. Once constant is that shipping Food will earn you Currency rather than Item rewards. The Currency rewards you earn are the same regardless of which Port you send to, but the higher-tier foods give you more Currency per item. As such, it’s still more worthwhile to focus on Favored Resources, including food.
Here are the rewards each Port will give you based on the resources you send them:
