How to Level from Level 90 to 100 fast in FFXIV (Final Fantasy XIV)

If you’re anything like me, one of the first things you do in any new expansion of Final Fantasy XIV is level up all of your Jobs and classes. Dawntrail is no different, but thankfully there are a lot of different ways to make the climb from Level 90 to 100.

Leveling isn’t the easiest of chores, with some of those Jobs a litle harder than others. Of course, you level your main Job first, but then you’re left with Jobs you’ve likely not played for a long time, or you’re tired of the monotony and need a shakeup. To speed through the process and get the precious Outrunner mount, I’ve got some tips on how you can go from Level 90 to Level 100 fast in FFXIV.

Don’t neglect your daily Roulettes

Daily Roulettes are, without a doubt, the easiest way to level your Jobs. Not only do they offer a huge amount of EXP as a baseline, there’s also boosts available for completing them as an ‘in need’ role. 

I know that it’s possibly the most boring content known to mankind, but make sure that you take part in Duty Roulette: Main Scenario every day – this roulette offers the largest amount of EXP, and you can easily get half a level out of it. 

Make the most of Wondrous Tales

If you continue running your roulettes daily, you’ll easily stock up on retries to use during Wondrous Tails. If you’ve got nine retries, pick the easiest duty offered in your Wondrous Tails book, run it nine times, and earn a guaranteed half level in under 30 minutes. 

Plus, if you’re lucky, completing Wondrous Tails can earn you some pretty epic rewards, not to mention the Tomestones on offer and the possibility of getting your hands on a Br’aaxskin Map every week.

FATEs are golden again

FATEs are once again a viable way to level your Jobs in Dawntrail. Each FATE, regardless of which area you choose, will give at least 500,000 EXP. This isn’t accounting for FATEs with bonuses attached, whether you’ve recently taken down a Forlorn or Forlorn Maiden, or which personal EXP boosts you’ve got applied. 

I leveled Astrologian from 90 to 100 without ever stepping foot inside a dungeon, purely through completing all of my Shared FATEs in Dawntrail areas, which allowed me to level up multiple classes through different methods.

Use those EXP buffs and don’t forget to eat!

While the EXP boost from eating is nearly always only 3%, it’s a 3% which can make a huge amount of difference. Don’t forget to eat, and if you want to increase your stats, make sure to check which stat boosts individual foods offer. 

As well as eating, make sure you’ve always got “The Heat of Battle” active through your FC. This will increase the EXP you earn in battle by 10%, which is a massive amount of difference. 

Leveling crafters or gatherers? Use your manuals

Don’t be scared away from using manuals by the “effect is halved after level ??” in the description. Yes, you won’t get quite the 150% boost to EXP, but you shouldn’t turn your nose up at a 75% increase in crafting or gathering EXP. 

I say this from personal experience: yes, doing this is awkward. You’ll need to keep an eye out for the notification telling you that you’re no longer getting an EXP boost, stop crafting or gathering, and then use another manual before continuing doing whatever you were doing. However, seeing those levels go up so quickly is definitely worth it. 

These can be purchased from any Scrip Exchange vendor for 30 Purple Scrips each. Make sure you get the Revised version, as these will last you the longest.

On the subject, make sure to do Leves, GC hand ins, and Custom Deliveries

If you’re leveling crafters or gatherers from 90 – 100, make sure to unlock the level 90+ Leves in Tuliyollal by talking to Malihali (X:13.7, Y:12.7). Leves give at least a million EXP each, rising up to almost 5 million at higher levels. On top of that, you can double the EXP earned by giving in high quality items. 

GC hand-ins are much the same, although they offer less EXP per hand in and can only be completed once a day. Handing in a high quality item will double the amount of EXP on offer, so you can quickly gain some levels by combining the two.

Custom Deliveries are also a solid bet to get some easy EXP, and if you choose to hand in to Ameliance and Anden, you can use Trained Eye to instantly get 100% collectability. These give roughly a million EXP per hand-in, depending on the collectability rating.

Level classes you aren’t comfortable with using PvP

There’s a PvP trick which can net you EXP for a less favored Job, without ever actually having to play it. 

All you need to do is queue for Frontlines as the Job that you want to get EXP for, and then switch Jobs once you enter the duty. If you want to avoid playing a Job entirely, you can level it using this trick. Plus, doing PvP every day is the best way to level up in the Series, unlocking unique rewards such as Squeak the Coyote and the Oppressor mount.
