Best Thunder Cage build in The First Descendant

Thunderstruck!

While it’s not worth doing for random weapons in The First Descendant, creating builds for some of your best weapons can elevate them from great to excellent. Most Modules are only stat boosts, but those stat boosts can make or break these weapons. One such weapon you get early is quite powerful on its own, but only gets much better with the right Modules. Here’s the best build for the Thunder Cage SMG in The First Descendant.

The Thunder Cage’s greatest strengths are in both its rate of fire and attack speed, dishing out endless bullets quickly. However, that means you’re constantly contending with reloads and the weapon not always being up to snuff in raw DPS. Rather than upping the damage however, we want to ensure that those clips go out quickly while reloads are far easier to deal with. The following nine Modules should do just that:

  • Reload Insight
  • Recycling Genius
  • Expand Weapon Charge
  • Fire Rate UP
  • Maximize Weight Balance
  • Vibration Absorption
  • Hawk-Eye
  • Weak Point Insight
  • Better Insight

The first five mods are designed with the core purpose in mind. We’re adding in fire rate, rounds per magazine, and reload speed so you’re dumping a clip into whatever enemy you see. The other four mods lift the weapon in other ways, with Vibration Absorption and Hawk-Eye providing some utility through recoil and accuracy. Weak Point Insight and Better Insight giving weak point damage and critical hit chance respectively.

Who is the best Descendant to pair the Thunder Cage with?

With the right build, Bunny is the best character by far to run the Thunder Cage with. If you’re building out Bunny properly, you’re adding in electricity damage somewhere since all of her builds are electricity-based. This can help the Thunder Cage’s unique passive of making enemies explode into electric bursts. It’s a match made in heaven.
