Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion and Remnant 2 join PlayStation Plus Extra this month

Despite the somewhat disappointing Essential monthly games for July, the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium lineup is more than making up for it this month.

PlayStation Plus Extra July 2024 lineup is impressive

PlayStation Plus Extra July 2024 fittingly heats up Sony’s subscription service with new games, such as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, Remnant 2, and a PSP classic Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.

PSVR 2 enthusiasts can also play Job Simulator through PlayStation Plus Extra if they haven’t already.

Starting on July 16, Square Enix fans may be delighted to play the Final Fantasy VII Remake prequel Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. It features Zack Fair, the hero who stars alongside Cloud in Rebirth. You can find out more about his story in this triple-A remaster of the PSP classic.

That’s not all for PSP fans, however. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, which has a surprisingly expensive PS2 port in the second-hand market, will be playable on modern systems for the first time on July 16 alongside all the other games we’ll mention in this article. Like the other classic titles, Size Matters is only available for PlayStation Plus Premium members. Sorry, Extra guys.

Thankfully, Remnant 2, an entertaining co-op shooter is also going to be available for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. We gave it a great 8.5/10 score last year. “As much as I enjoyed the cinematography and scope of the world design in Remnant: From the Ashes, the team really knocked it out of the park with Remnant 2,” said our reviewer Steven Mills. “There are multiple worlds you’ll find yourself progressing through, each with a unique setting and story that really immersed me.”
