Can you change armor color in The First Descendant?

A kaleidoscope of character colors.

Armor in The First Descendant can be important to bring out your own identity within each Descendant. You’re in third-person for most of the game, so having that Descendant look nice is immediately noticeable and sometimes pleasing. However, you might be wondering if you can do more than change your armor altogether. Here’s whether you can change your armor color in The First Descendant.

Sadly, changing your armor color is not available in the game as of writing. You can only change your armor pieces through head, body, chest, and back using the cosmetics you’ve purchased with real money. Otherwise, you’re stuck with the default look. Before you check, weapons also can’t be changed outside of their default look or any future skins that release for them.

This choice is particularly strange because in the previous betas, color options were possible for each Descendant. You would think the game would become more flushed out and polished thanks to testing, but alas, it seems the Nexon team felt the feature didn’t make sense for launch. We could speculate why that is with a few hunches, but the point is that it isn’t in the game and we don’t know if it will come in the future.

While this is a shame, you aren’t completely screwed out of cosmetics if you aren’t willing to shell out some cash. The free version of the battle pass does come with a few cosmetics to help you out, though these are minor like chest and back attachments rather than full-on skins.
