Where to find a Trial Chamber in Minecraft

There are three ways to find trial chambers in Minecraft:

  1. Search around the world on foot.
  2. Buy a Trial Explorer map from a cartographer villager.
  3. Teleport using console commands.

Trial Chambers are structures you’ll find by digging underground, much like how you’d encounter an Ancient City or mineshaft. Unlike lush caves, nothing in the overworld indicates when you’re approaching one. Instead, you’ll have to look out for tuff bricks as you’re mining, as the trial chamber’s outer walls are made up almost entirely out of this block.

Once you find some tuff bricks, keep mining until you find copper or a large, open trial room. Just be careful not to accidentally break a vault, chest, or other important blocks, as this can mess with the room’s puzzle. Otherwise, you’ve officially found your first trial chamber.

Alternatively, you can buy a Trial Explorer map from a cartographer villager. To find one, head to any nearby village and search for one, or place a cartography table next to a regular villager to turn it into a cartographer. However, the cartographer has to be Journeyman level or above to sell the map, so you’ll have to initiate a few trades with it until the villager is ready to sell the map.

After leveling the cartographer villager to Journeyman, purchase a Trial Explorer map from them to easily find a trial chamber. It’ll appear with a square symbol on the map, differentiating it from other structures in Minecraft.

How to find a Trial Chamber with cheats enabled in Minecraft

If you want to experience Minecraft’s trial chambers right away without running or flying around and searching, you can take the steps below to find one immediately using console commands:

  1. Enable cheats on your world, or create a save with cheats enabled.
  2. Type in /locate structure minecraft:trial_chambers
  3. Teleport to the given coordinates.

Once you teleport to the locate command’s coordinates, you’ll immediately appear within the trial chambers, ready to explore its various rooms and puzzles.

What is a Trial Chamber in Minecraft?

Minecraft’s trial chambers are full of spawners, puzzles, and treasures. A usual chamber spawns with several rooms, each with its own puzzle that you solve, traps to disable, or groups of enemies for you to defeat. You’ll find enemies like your usual zombies and spiders alongside the Breeze, similar to blazes, and the Bogged, a new skeleton type.

Alongside hostile enemies and traps, you’ll also find numerous barrels and treasure chests in each room and its connecting corridors, giving you opportunities to gain new tools, blocks, and other valuables. You can also loot dispensers and other functional blocks normally used as traps to get potions, arrows, and other weapons.
