Developer Systemic Reaction has announced the next update for its open world survival game that’s packed with advanced robots out for your blood. The Skyfire Update for Generation Zero brings a lot to the table, extending the game even for players who have hit endgame and find it easy.
Generation Zero’s Skyfire Update will be released on June 25, 2024 for all platforms. It brings many new elements to the open world stealth action that players can immerse themselves in. This includes a brand new endgame enemy machine to fight toe-to-toe with, new companion armor kits, more weapons, and an update to various mechanics like the Tyrant spawning system.
Learn to master the machines again when the Skyfire Update drops for Generation Zero
The new enemy type you’ll be battling in the Skyfire Update for Generation Zero is the Vulture. It’s a new Tyrant class enemy that’s evolved from the Firebird enemy type. These things look like they could cause problems for a group, so you need to go in with your top-tier equipment and weapons if you want to take them out.
A new piece of equipment you can get hold of is Companion Armor Kits. Throw one of these at your companions, and it’ll repair their armor on the fly. If your companion’s armor is depleted, you can actually re-kit them with this, too, making it much easier to go out on long runs and survive longer in tough battles.
The update adds a new weapon to Generation Zero, the Meusser Hunting Rifle. It fires off a chemical laser beam that can set the ground around you on fire. It’s also got a bunch of new weapon augmentations, but you’ll need to kill some Tyrant enemies to pick them up.
Lastly, this update adds new Tyrant locations to discover after killing rival machines, gathering the required coordinates, and entering those into Tyrant Terminals in bases. Fixes to machine detention are also coming alongside updated Tyrant progression.
Generation Zero has grown over the years to offer the best stealth survival experience that pits you against an island filled with hostile machines. The tension you feel playing solo is second to none, and going in with others still feels like you’re facing an insurmountable enemy.
This update sounds like it will only improve the endgame and offer something new to grind for after pouring dozens of hours into it. Those rewards feel great to earn because you build up a great collection of tools to head out and test out on machines. I can’t wait to set the ground on fire and watch my enemies burn.
