If you missed some of our comprehensive coverage of Guitar Hero 5 today, you’ve come to the right place. This is where you can get caught up on the day’s GH 5-related posts and keep track of what’s what.

First, we posted an in-depth note explaining how song compatibility in the Guitar Hero franchise is going to work. Hit it up if you’re unclear about any aspect of the process of playing on-disc and downloadable Guitar Hero World Tour and Smash Hits songs in GH 5 and Band Hero.

Next up was a preview of Guitar Hero 5. You can’t necessarily fault Neversoft for making smart changes that Harmonix happened to implement first, but even so, unique features like Party Play are significant enough to warrant a look.

Finally, we took a look at the Wii version of Guitar Hero 5. For once, Wii owners have nothing to feel slighted about — this edition of GH 5 offers all of the same features and gameplay modes, online and offline, as the high-definition versions.

Later tonight, we’ll have some media of country legend Johnny Cash in the game, and tomorrow, we’re going to close out this ring of fire with impressions of the all-new GHStudio song creation mode.
