XDefiant leaker claims two Assassin’s Creed maps could be coming soon

Give me a hidden blade and I'm in.

XDefiant is Ubisoft’s attempt at creating a Call of Duty killer, but the company has so much more locked away in its IP vault. That’s why it should be no surprise that a leaker has discovered mentions of maps themed around Assassin’s Creed.

CoD is well-known for its weird and wacky crossovers these days, so it’s not a huge shock that XDefiant aims to follow that pattern too. It’s easier when you own a lot of IP as well, as Ubisoft does, so getting them into your game is much easier and doesn’t require negotiations with the rights owners.

According to Rogue, an XDefiant dataminer, two Assassin’s Creed maps should appear in the game at some point in the future, with the leaker posting a clip featuring sounds from the maps, while also stating that they had found a “good amount of things related to” the locations.

It would definitely be interesting to see what those maps would look like, with all of the Assassin’s Creed maps set well in the past. Whether we would see locations from history or maps based on the more modern-day story that is expected to feature in Assassin’s Creed: Infinity. Other leaks have suggested that a new faction called The Brotherhood could also be linked to the long-running series.

Of course, it’s worth remembering that these are leaks and rumors, and haven’t been confirmed by Ubisoft. Therefore, it’s worth taking all of this information with a pinch of salt until we get official word from the developers. Still, it’s hard not to let your imagination run wild at the thought.
