Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is planned to be 25% bigger than its predecessor, with Xbox Series S being a major reason behind that number.
Warhorse Studio’s upcoming RPG sequel has apparently had its scope set due to the current-gen Xbox console’s RAM limitations, as revealed by producer Martin Klíma during the Game Access event in Brno, Czech Republic (reported first by Czech website Zing.cz).
Klíma said that the 10 GB of RAM in the Xbox Series S led the team to make Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 just 25% larger. Xbox Series S is the lower-budget option among the current-gen Xbox and Sony consoles, and its technical specifications are lower than both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
Interestingly, Warhorse Studios is not the first development house to run into Xbox Series S limitations. The Xbox versions of Baldur’s Gate 3 were delayed, due in large part to Larian Studios struggling to add split-screen gameplay to the Xbox Series S. The team ultimately could not make split-screen work on the Xbox Series S, and Microsoft relented on its feature parity between the Xbox Series X and S to let Baldur’s Gate 3 finally head to Xbox.
The Kingdom Come studio producer has also shared how Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will perform on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. He revealed that the game will run at 4K resolution but at 30 frames per second. As for the Xbox Series S, the game will run at 1440p (2K) resolution at 30 FPS. It might be a bummer for some console players that the game will not have a performance mode that brings it to 60 FPS.
PC players will get to take advantage of Nvidia DLSS, which will take game performance up to 80 FPS at 4K at Very High graphics settings, as reported by Wccftech.
