Best methods for FFXIV Anima Density farming (Heavensward Relic)

You're nearly there, I promise!

If you’re reaching the end of your journey towards a shiny new Anima weapon, you’re going to need to farm for Aetheric Density, often mistakenly called ‘Light’ due to its similarity to one of the steps in the Zodiac Zeta relics.

Aetheric Density is needed to complete the “Born Again Anima” quest of the Anima relic grind. It’s one of the last quests and while the requirement may seem daunting, there are some easy ways to hoard this Density very quickly. In total, you’ll need to gather 2,000 Aetheric Density, but don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it seems.

If you’re looking for Aetheric Density, you’ll need to complete any duty that was introduced during the Heavensward expansion, including everything from FATEs to Savage Raids. Of course, the more difficult the duty the higher the reward, so if you’re wanting to do this quickly you’ll need to be prepared for some challenging fights. Thankfully, you don’t need to complete these fights synced, so you can get through even the hardest of the duties with relative ease.

To see how much Aetheric Density you currently have, or how much you still need to get, you can use your Enhanced Anima Glass to open up the interface. There are 10 runes here, surrounding Anima itself, and a new rune will fully illuminate each time you collect 200 Density.

Here’s the full list of duties and how much Aetheric Density they offer:

The best way to get Aetheric Density in Final Fantasy XIV

If you’re looking to do this quickly, the best way to get Aetheric Density is undoubtedly Alexander – The Eyes of the Creator (Savage), also known as “A9S”, unsynced with a level 90 Job. Thanks to the massive number of levels between the duty itself and the current level cap of 90, you can steamroll through this Raid solo in a couple of minutes with ease, even with the much lower iLvl Anima weapon equipped.

With its guaranteed 96 Aetheric Density and the possibility of getting 128 for any run, you only need to run A9S a maximum of 21 times. This will allow you to get all the Aetheric Density you need in under an hour, without the need to drag anyone else into the duty with you.
