Ghost of Tsushima is a great game in its own right. It’s got some beautiful visuals to appreciate, its combat is difficult but satisfying, and it’s got a great story about reclaiming your home from invaders.
This sounds exciting, but numerous technical problems can hold you back from your enjoyment. Here’s how to fix the “Failed to Initialize PlayStation PC SDK” error in Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Tsushima Failed to Initialize PlayStation PC SDK error solution
The most common solution for this issue involves the game’s files. To access them, you can do the following based on your storefront:
- Steam
- Head to the game in your Steam Library.
- Right-click Ghost of Tsushima and select Properties.
- Click Installed Files.
- Click Browse.
- Epic Games Store
- Go to the game in your Epic Library.
- Right-click it and select Manage.
- Next to Installation, click the small folder icon.
Once in the game files, locate and run the file PsPcSdkRuntimeInstaller.msi. Once done, head to the drive you have Ghost of Tsushima installed on (most commonly the C drive), head to Program Data, followed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc, PSPC_SDK, S22, and finally 2.13.00.01. From there, run the program PsPcSdkAppMgr.exe. Once both these programs are run, Ghost of Tsushima should work.
In the event the above doesn’t work, there are a few other tricks you can try. Some people have suggested that deleting the Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. folder entirely fixed the issue for them. You could also try uninstalling and reinstalling Ghost of Tsushima, though given the download size, this should be considered a last resort.
