In the lead-up to its official release on July 19, EA Sports released a reveal trailer for College Football 25, which included a first look at pre-game rituals, stadium presentation, and gameplay. In addition to the video, the devs also released a blog detailing new features, game modes, and presentation. With all of that being said, one of the first questions at the top of players’ minds is if they will be able to play the upcoming sports-sim title with friends on different consoles.

EA Sports College Football 25 supports cross-play in most modes

Cross-play in EA Sports College Football 25 will be available for players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in everything but Online Dynasty. There is no need to activate cross-play, as it will be enabled by default when you start the game for the first time on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. On Xbox Series X|S, cross-play settings are controlled through the system settings. On PS5, these settings are found in the in-game settings.

The method for disabling cross-play differs by platform. On Xbox Series X|S, this must be done through the console system settings. On PS5, players can opt out of cross-play through the in-game settings.

Which EA Sports College Football 25 game modes support cross-play?

In College Football 25, Road to the College Football Playoff, College Football Ultimate Team, and Play a Friend support cross-platform. Unfortunately, players won’t be able to host an Online Dynasty server with friends on the other console.

How to start a cross-play game in EA Sports College Football 25

Here is a simple guide on how to host a cross-play game.

  • Open the EA connect menu in College Football 25
  • Navigate to the Player Search tab
  • Search for a player using their EA Identification number or their platform identifier. A playerā€™s platform identifier is either their Xbox Series X|S gamertag or PSN ID
