Ghostbusters: The Video Game sold well. June NPD numbers indicate that consumers gobbled up 440,000 units of the game written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis in less than three weeks on the market. According to the LA Times blog, Ghostbusters sold more in its first month of release than many other recent film-based properties, including Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and even the vaunted X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

We’re sure Atari and Terminal Reality are pleased.

We’re tickled that the game sold so well and hope that sales will force another game (of equal and hopefully better quality) to go into production. Or, hey, how about that fabled Ghostbusters 3 script? That thing needs to happen.
