Helldivers 2 frend Dremskiy memes

A bruised Helldivers 2 community finds solace with a player who’s become everyone’s new ‘frend’

Everyone can use a frend.

Wounded hearts tend to grow closer together, which is something the Helldivers 2 community has learned after a recent crushing defeat. After a fellow diver found themselves at the receiving end of a boot, the Helldivers 2 community swiftly responded by making them everyone’s “frend.”

A few days ago, a Helldivers 2 subreddit user by the name of RoboBadger07 shared a shattering image of a conversation in a post titled, “The interraction [sic] that can make a grown man cry.” It starred a diver named dremskiy, who joined a match only for the host to tell them they were about to get kicked. “[W]e playing friends opnly,” the host explains. “[I] hv to kick you.”

Dremskiy replied, “im frend.” The plea fell on deaf ears: “dontmake this more difficult.”

The brief, devastating conversation exploded on the subreddit, spurning a wave of memes and creating the kind of camaraderie sorely needed for the wounded community.

Helldivers 2 community needed a new frend, and one got a few too many

It’s been a rough go for the Helldivers 2 community these last few weeks. I can elucidate the recent history for whole entire minutes, but I feel it could be more fun to go over it in tantalizing list form:

Indeed, things have been more optimistic for the live-service shooter. Not even the recent announcement of its impressive sales figures was enough to clear the dark clouds overhead. Perhaps the people didn’t need numbers, but a hero. Of sorts.

Dremskiy is also aware of their internet popularity, as discovered in a recent Reddit post. One player managed to run into them during a match and mentioned their fame. Dremskiy replied that they learned about the memes thanks to a friend, and says the whole situation has made them “genuinely happy.”

Even the official Helldivers 2 account on Twitter has gotten in on the fun.

Sadly, if you’re looking to be a frend to dremskiy, you’re a little too late. Their friend list is apparently full, likely guaranteeing they will never be forced from a party ever again. If only everyone can have a friend like, erm, everyone.
