Activision and Treyarch have announced today that a third Call of Duty: World at War map pack, “Locked and Loaded,” is due for release in August.
“Locked and Loaded” will feature three new multiplayer maps — “Battery,” “Revolution,” and “Breach” — along with one new Zombie Mode map, “Der Riese.” As expected, these will be available for download on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; no word on pricing.
It’s a bit surprising to see content for World at War still continues to get released, especially as we get closer to the release of Modern Warfare 2. Still, World at War is still a pretty popular online multiplayer game, and I suppose it doesn’t hurt to keep the Call of Duty brand fresh in everyone’s mind going in the holiday.
Do you guys think that World at War will continue to be relevant once Modern Warfare 2 hits shelves? Or will gamers only be playing these new maps for a few months before moving on?
