As part of a massive roster reset at the end of April, FaZe let go of several members, reducing the number of creators to 14. FaZe founder Banks has gotten more involved in content creation and re-engaged with the CoD community. That includes accepting a challenge against 100 Thieves founder and former CoD pro, Nadeshot, in a one-versus-one duel on Rust in MW3. In addition, FaZe partnered with Xfinity to host more tournaments through the rest of 2024.

FaZe Kaysan leaned on that partnership to reignite excitement in competitive CoD.

Fans can tune into the MW3 tournament on Kaysan’s Twitch channel or Zooma’s Twitch channel. Zooma and Ray will broadcast Kaysan’s Showdown together, and it will be co-streamed on whichever channel you decide to watch. There is a $25,000 prize pool for the tournament, but Kaysan did not share how it will be split up between the teams.

Kaysan’s MW3 Shodown explained

Neither Kaysan nor Zooma revealed the format for this tournament. However, based on previous Showdown events, it’s safe to assume all matches will be Search and Destroy on Call of Duty League maps with the official map and weapon pool in effect. It’s possible that Hardpoint might be a mode as well, but it’s unlikely that streamers learned rotations for that game mode. It will also be interesting to see what kind of role the coaches have, as they are all either current or former professional players.
