Palworld is adding a new PvP game mode in a future update.

The Palworld devs delivered a bombshell during the Triple-I Initiative Showcase, hinting at its upcoming addition of PvP.

We only got a brief glimpse, but during the Triple-I Initiative livestream, Pocket Pair showed off gameplay of Palworld Arena, which appears to be a one-versus-one battle mode held within a coliseum. Based on the short gameplay footage clip, each combatant can use three Pals and a weapon. The devs did not provide a specific release date, but did give a timeframe of 2024. This is still a developing story and we will provide an update if Pocket Pair provides more information.

Palworld currently has co-op, but nothing to the scale shown in the Triple-I Initiative trailer. If players are in the same guild, up to four people can build their own base, use crafting tables and work sites, and interact with Pals in another user’s world. But in all Palworld co-op and solo experiences, the action-adventure title utilizes PvE combat, and there is no option to fight against other players regardless of whether they are in your guild.

In saying that, Palworld multiplayer issues are currently posing major issues on Xbox. Pocketpair recently advised Xbox players not to load multiplayer save data because of a new issue introduced to the game alongside the v0.2.0.6 update. Hopefully, the devs will iron out this issue so guilds can prepare for the upcoming arena combat.
