Your save data from Final Fantasy 7 Remake doesnāt transfer to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth per se, but you do get some bonuses if youāve played it. However, you have to claim them, and this is how you do it.
Before you even start a game, you can find the option Bonuses on the main menu. Scroll down and select it. Youāre then given the options to check or skip. Given that youāre even reading this guide, youāll obviously want to select ācheck.ā The game will then scan your systemās hard drive for the needed data and unlock the bonus items.
The data it is looking for is from the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Episode INTERMission (Intergrade). One important detail here is that you arenāt required to complete these games. You just need the save data on your hard drive. If you started Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but have no interest in finishing it before playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I find that somewhat strange, but youāll still get the bonus for it.
Another thing to note is that the saves have to be on the console itself. If you played FF7 Remake on PS4, youāll need to transfer that save data to your PS5. Likewise, if you keep a squeaky clean drive, youāll want to reobtain your save from the cloud before you scan. Again, Iām not here to question your lifestyle choices.
For posterity, here are the available bonuses
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo: Kupo Charm and Survival Set (you can also skip the Nibelheim tutorial sequence.
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Leviathan summon Material
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Episode INTERMission (Intergrade): Ramuh summon Materia
If youāve already started a game and are just not becoming aware of how to unlock these things, you can still access the bonuses menu on the title screen and scan your hard drive. All these items are just available for selection once your drive has been checked and the save data has been confirmed.
