Sorry Triple Triad, there’s a new Final Fantasy card game in town and that’s Queen’s Blood. Even though neither the original Final Fantasy 7 or Final Fantasy 7 Remake had a card game, Queen’s Blood is a fully functional and fleshed-out card game that even plays a role throughout the story. If you’re wondering when do you unlock Queen’s Blood in FF7 Rebirth, thankfully you don’t have to wait long.
How to unlock Queen’s Blood in FF7 Rebirth
You’ll unlock Queen’s Blood in FF7 Rebirth very early in Chapter 2. It’s not missable, and you don’t have to go out of your way to unlock it. After Cloud and the party rest up at the Inn in Kalm, you’ll have control of Cloud and head downstairs to speak with the Innkeeper, Broden. Broden will give you your first Queen’s Blood deck of 15 cards and offer to show you the ropes.
From here on out you can challenge specific NPCs to a game of Queen’s Blood. If you lose, there is no penalty, and you can always opt to challenge them again at any time. Defeating your opponent, however, will reward you with a specific card for winning. Right in the immediate village of Kalm there are two opponents waiting to play Queen’s Blood: Ned and Nene.
Where can you play Queen’s Blood?
Each region has a handful of Queen’s Blood players that you can challenge as well. As you defeat more and more players, you’ll unlock special “Boss” opponents that you can challenge as well.
Also, in FF7 Rebirth, Queen’s Blood is even integrated into the main story. You will in fact have to play Queen’s Blood at various points throughout the game, so it’s not completely optional.
After you unlock Queen’s Blood in FF7 Rebirth, you can pretty much play as much as you want. All opponents can be challenged again, even after you defeat them. Multiple locations will allow you to face a variety of opponents as well to always have the opportunity to build your deck and play Queen’s Blood!
