Genshin Impact: Is Chenyu Vale permanent?

Do you need to rush your exploration before it's gone?

Chenyu Vale is a new region of Liyue that was added in Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact. In the past, certain explorable areas have been temporary, becoming inaccessible at the end of their patch. Is Chenyu Vale also time-limited?

Chenyu Vale is a permanent addition to Genshin Impact. It will still be fully explorable at the end of Version 4.4, so there is no rush to complete everything in the area!

If you’re ever in doubt in the future, any expansions to the main open world of Teyvat will generally be permanent. Chenyu Vale can be accessed from the main map, and you can walk/swim to it from either Liyue or Fontaine. Limited-time special areas like the Golden Apple Archipelago and Veluriyam Mirage always appear on smaller individual maps that load separately from the main open world of Teyvat.

Is anything in Chenyu Vale time-limited?

None of the World Quests or chests in Chenyu Vale are time-limited. You will still be able to access all relevant World Quests, NPCs, chests, and activities after Version 4.4 concludes.

The only activity that has an expiration date is Iridescent Cloud-Striding, one of the minigames of this year’s Lantern Rite event. It looks like this minigame will consist of a series of challenges taking place in the Chenyu Vale region. When the Lantern Rite event ends on February 26, all of its associated activities will go with it.

If you want to participate in all Lantern Rite activities, you may want to at least unlock the teleporters in Chenyu Vale for easy traversal later. Teleporters will also come in handy if you need to farm Clearwater Jades for Xianyun. Happy exploring!
