Wood is an important resource in Palworld, but you may be hesitant to lay waste to the splendor of nature. If you do go ham on all the resources, you might wonder if that splendor will ever return. Do the trees grow back?
Yes. And not just the trees, but the rocks and other resources, as well.
Not only is the respawn interval one of the custom difficulty settings when creating a world (weāll get to that), but I also put this through rigorous testing.
There was a tree standing on an outcropping near my base. So, in order to see if trees would grow back, I took an axe to the conspicuous growth, then waited to see if that outcropping would once again be populated by vegetation. Not only did the tree grow back, it grew back quickly.
This brings us to the respawn interval. When setting up a new world, if you click on the custom settings button next to custom difficulty, youāll get a list of tweaks you can make. Scrolling down the list, youāll find āGatherable Objects Respawn Interval.ā This is what controls the growth of trees and the, umā¦ regeneration of rocks. By default, it is set to one and can be changed to any number between 0.5 and 3. Note that you canāt turn it off entirely.
Based on my testing, this indicates the number of days before a resource respawns. If you donāt change this setting, the next day, youāll see trees popping back up where they stood before. Thereās no growth cycle; they just reappear fully grown.
Now, if you donāt want them to come back, like if theyāre in an inconvenient spot in your base, youāll need to build something overtop of them. According to feedback, this only works if what you’re blocking them with is directly over top of them on the ground. The trees wonāt, for example, grow directly through your floor. But as of right now, they will grow through a bridge.
