The Abattoir of Zir is the most recent addition to Diablo 4, and though it offers some of the best rewards in the game, itās definitely not something that every player needs to focus on.
The Abattoir is designed to be the biggest endgame challenge that Diablo has to offer. Much like Greater Rifts in Diablo 3, the Abattoir is a timed dungeon with 25 difficulty levels for players to grind through. At the very first level the Abattoir is supposed to be harder than a level 100 Nightmare Dungeon, so most characters are going to get pulverized in minutes.
Unless youāre someone who speed runs the season journey and races to level 100, the Abattoir of Zir probably isnāt for you. Only the most carefully constructed builds are going to be able to face the challenges the Abattoir has to offer, but once you get a character to max level, it might be worth poking your head into the Abattoir ever so briefly to score one of the most powerful glyphs in the entire game.
Opening the Abattoir
Before you can tackle the Abattoir, you need to unlock World Tier IV and complete the season journey. Finishing out the season will grant you a recipe for the Bloodforged Sigil, which you can craft at the Occultist. Using the Sigil opens a portal in Ked Bardu that will take you into the Abattoir.
Once youāre inside, youāll have 10 minutes to kill as many enemies as possible. All the loot drops at the end, so you can spend your run focused on dealing damage. After youāve killed enough enemies, some Bloodseekers will spawn to give you a final challenge before the run ends, and killing them will unlock the Abattoirās rewards.
Tears of Blood
You might not have the perfectly optimized build required to really start grinding away at the Abattoir, but if youāve finished the season journey, you should at least try to survive the first level. Completing level one of the Abattoir unlocks the Tears of Blood glyph, which is easily one of the strongest additions to the Paragon board this season, and without it, no one stands a chance of surviving the higher levels of the Abattoir.
Tears of Blood has a radius of four, and it gives a flat two percent damage increase for every five core stats within range on the Paragon board. On top of that, the glyph gives a 50 percent increase to Rare nodes in range, and that boost jumps 10 percent for every 10 levels you spend on the glyph. Tears of Blood maxes out at level 50, but even if you donāt spend hundreds of hours grinding glyph XP to max it out, itāll still be one of the most powerful bonuses you can give to any character build.
