How to destroy Laser Ore Processor Alpha in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Finally access that one Ancestor Skill.

Laser Ore Processor Alpha is the largest RDA facility in the Kinglor Forest in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Itā€™s locked to combat level 20, but youā€™ll likely encounter it when youā€™re far below that level. Hereā€™s a step-by-step walkthrough for this challenging base.

Infiltrate Laser Ore Processor Alpha

You must enter the facility from the east in order to trigger the mission objectives. Head to the easternmost wall, north of the chain-link fence. Climb some conveniently stacked boxes and jump over.

Once youā€™re in, do not run forward into the open. There are multiple turrets just waiting to turn you into blue cheese. Instead, drop down into the dirt. There is a ventilation shaft in the side of the concrete. Melee or shoot the cover to destroy it, and crouch-walk your way into the vent.

Find a way through the checkpoint

Once youā€™re inside the facility proper, the path forward is pretty linear. Continue through the shafts, take the lift tool up, and youā€™ll enter the first combat room featuring several human soldiers and an AMP Pyro suit.

I like to snipe the human soldiers with a heavy bow before taking on any combat mechs. The humans should fall silently, allowing you to maintain stealth for longer, provided you donā€™t miss. Luckily, no one seems to look up in this game, so youā€™re fairly safe and out of sight in the upper walkways.

Once the room is clear, drop down and follow the yellow pipes to your right. Hack the controls to open the way forward.

Hack the cargo trench control console

From the controls, head west and take the lift tool up. Enter the vents and follow the yellow pipes again to another combat room. There are several humans and two AMP Assault Veterans. You can sneak past them, but itā€™s easier to kill them now, since youā€™ll be forced to fight them anyway.

After dealing with the enemies, get on top of the Control Center ā€” a small yellow building. Break through the vent on top and drop down, killing the solder inside. Hacking the console will open the door and spawn more enemies.

Reach the gas pipeline control room

Once youā€™re safe, head northwest through the door labeled ā€œGas Facility 1.ā€ Continue through the corridors until you reach the control room. Hack the terminal, but try to stand off to the side. The window in front of you will be blown open by an explosion.

The way forward is through the window, but several humans will see you as soon as you leave your position. Deal with them and make your way to the other side of the room, shooting the three shutoff valves as you go. The latter two valves are mostly protected by armor, so shoot them from the side where they are exposed. Destroying a shutoff valve will spawn more enemies.

Reach the slag pit

When all three valves are destroyed, head up the stairs and through the circular opening. Eventually, youā€™ll reach a room with one human guard and some ammo. Head up the yellow pipes to the left and enter another vent.

The slag pit is full of both humans and AMP suits. Itā€™s hard to stay unnoticed for long, and enemies can still shoot you while youā€™re up on the walkways. I stayed on the walkway and sniped at them from there, but I definitely still took a few hits.

When the room is clear, head into the brightly lit control room to the right and hack the terminal. As soon as you finish hacking, three humans and an AMP Commando will ambush you. Deal with them and shoot the exposed pipe on the southwest wall.

Reach the smelting unit

Head down the stairs to the south and through the circular opening. Then, perform some tricky jumps over a pool of molten metal. At the bottom, youā€™ll notice a lift tool offering to take you down. Do not use the lift tool. It lowers you directly into the molten metal, killing you Terminator-style. It would be a fun Easter egg, except dying here puts you back to the beginning of the slag pit, forcing you to fight through that room again.

Instead of sacrificing yourself, jump across to the four pipes spanning the room and head to the right. Kill another oblivious human guard and head down a ramp into another vent.

When you get to a room buzzing with electricity, pull the lever on a column to your right. This shuts off the electrical hazards in the area, making it safe for your passing.

Hack the door controls to gain access to the smelting room.

Destroy the giant laser

Thereā€™s an enormous laser in the middle of the room. Shoot it to make it go haywire, then shoot the exposed valves on either side of the room.

Enemies will begin flooding into the room from the opposite side of where you are. Fight them, then shoot the laser again.

More enemies will spawn while you try to turn three valves on the left side. It is possible to do this stealthily, but it might be easier to deal with the enemies first. The laser will constantly sweep over the area where youā€™re standing, causing you to take damage over time.

Once youā€™re finished with the left side, shoot the exposed valve on the far side of the room, then shoot the laser again.

Now you need to turn three valves on the right side. The laser sweeps back and forth more quickly now, making it hard to turn all three valves in one go. Shoot another exposed valve at the back of the room, finally exposing the laserā€™s weak point.

Shoot the flaming opening at the back of the laser when it faces away from you. You may need to do this a few times. Finally, you get to enjoy an explosive cutscene as you celebrate your achievement.
