It’s been a long road to this point and your supplies are likely dwindling. Omega is one of the toughest fights in XVI. Let’s make sure you come out on top.

General tips

  • Much like Angra Mainyu, Omega likes to keep its distance from Clive. Phoenix Shift is a great tool for closing the gap.
  • As the fight progresses, Omega will increase the frequency with which it chains attacks together. Since a lot of these are energy attacks, dodging is your best friend.
  • At 4/5 health, Omega will transform into Omega Aionios. Pause the game, have a good cry, and prepare to die.

Omega attacks

General attacks

  • Fires four orbs in a 2×2 grid that have seeking.
  • When close, Omega will swipe at Clive with its front legs.
  • If Clive remains close to Omega for too long, the boss will leap up and away to another section of the arena.

Delta Attack

Omega scans the arena and places an electrified triangular fence around Clive. After several seconds, this will disappear into a series of electrified triangles on the ground.

Wave Cannon

Omega charges and fires a beam of energy in a straight line ahead of it.

ML Wave Cannon

An upgraded form of Wave Cannon where Omega fires three parallel beams after briefly charging. As the first beams are dissipating, another set of beams will appear in the gaps.

Omega Aionios attacks

General attacks

  • Omega will make a lot of large sweeping attacks in an arc in front of it. Look for the windup and be ready to dodge several successive attacks.
  • When Omega skates away, it is preparing to launch an aerial attack. This attack deals massive amounts of damage if it connects.
  • Omega will skate around the edge of the arena and place lasers at 90-degree intervals. This is usually followed by it rushing Clive with a melee combo.
  • Be mindful when fighting up close as Omega will summon six lasers that fire on Clive’s current position without much warning. This does create a small opening as the construct appears drained for a second or two after firing them.
  • After casting Pantokrator, any sweeping melee attacks from Omega will leave a trail of flame.
  • After using Pantokrator, if Clive is in melee range, Omega will occasionally create an AoE in front of it while also channeling twin lasers at the ground. Dodge out of the circle before it blows.

Maximum Overdrive

Omega will begin flailing its new mutated arms, cartwheeling, and generally moving in a straight line toward and past Clive. You can either dodge or try and work a parry in.

Ion Efflux

Hahahahahahahaha. What. Even. Is. This. Fight!? Omega summons a storm of explosive orbs that rain down from the sky like a boss from Nier: Automata. While you’re trying to dodge that nonsense, the construct will usually throw out Delta Attack and ML Wave Cannon.

Pantokrator

It’s kind of hard to tell what’s going on here due to the absolutely bonkers light show, but it appears that Omega pulses three times as it charges up. These pulses don’t do damage, but if you’re hit by the flailing arms or the fire trails left behind, you’ll lose some life.

Atomic Ray

Similar to the Sigma fight where it casts Colossal Blow and Fulmination, Atomic Ray begins with Omega slamming its meat mitts into the ground. Shockwaves will radiate from each fist. While dodging that, growing circles will appear on the ground. The goal is to find a spot where the circles don’t overlap by the time they explode. Should that not happen, you can dodge the final explosion.

Hyperextension

Omega will plant its fists into the ground and launch twin linear walls of flame. These humbled me with how quickly they move and the obscene amount of damage they inflict.

High Maneuvers

Omega directs its fists toward the ground and unleashes a torrent of flame before catapulting into the air. It will briefly appear in the distance before immediately invading your personal space with a ground slam that then shoots up pillars of flame. This attack leaves Omega vulnerable to a counterattack for several moments.

Final Stand

With roughly 1/5 of its health left, Omega Aionios will go into its final stage. It will remain immobile in the center of the arena while it channels Dimensional Compression. During this time, the arena will be continually shrinking. The attacks are few in variety as they mostly consist of lasers firing off along the edges and from Omega Aionios itself. It will also rain down orbs like Ion Efflux.

You’re going to have a lot coming at you in an ever-shrinking space. Hold absolutely nothing back and keep laying into Omega Aionios before it finishes channeling Dimensional Compression.
