Where does Grand Theft Auto 6 take place?

Grand Theft Auto VI will be returning to a familiar city.

In 2025, crime and chaos will be unleashed in Grand Theft Auto 6. However, what’s old is new in Rockstar Games’ next open world, which includes a familiar city.

What is the setting of Grand Theft Auto 6?

You’ll be stealing cars and firing your guns in the return of Vice City. Rockstar Games briefly teases the city sign in the debut trailer.

For those unaware of the PlayStation 2 Grand Theft Auto games, Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in Leonida (that’s deeply inspired by Florida). We see the city’s residents on the beach, the tropical trees, and crocodiles in a swimming pool. Florida is often synonym with wild crimes in the news as well, so Rockstar Games will have a lot of inspiration.

It’s unclear if Grand Theft Auto: Vice City‘s characters will be present in the next entry. The PS2 game was set in the 1980s, so those criminals from that game would be much older. It would be cool to see Tommy Vercetti return in some shape or form though. Unfortunately, Vercetti’s voice actor Ray Liotta passed away in 2022, so someone else would have to take on the role.

When is GTA 6 coming out?

Despite the decade-long wait for another Grand Theft Auto game, we’ll be waiting until 2025 to play Rockstar’s next magnum opus. Hopefully, it lives up to its mighty expectations from fans around the world. It will be released for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. As of now, PC gamers are out of luck.
