In this specific instance, we’re talking about Lerche, the studio behind such works as Danganronpa: The Animation, Assassination Classroom, and School-Live!

Lerche — pronounced like the ‘lark’ bird — was founded in 2011, and while it had a slow beginning, by 2015 it was producing no less than four disparate anime series per year. But this was a short-lived trend that ceased starting in 2019, and between the existing downturn and the COVID-19 pandemic, Lerche still hasn’t managed to return to those peaks.
