How to get the Ritualist Scythe in Remnant 2: The Awakened King DLC

If you have unlocked the Ritualist Archetype in the new Remnant 2: The Awakened King DLC, you may have noticed something is missing. More specifically, the iconic Ritualist weapon, the scythe. Unlike most weapons, the Ritualist Scythe isn’t just found or created back at Ward 13. Instead, you must collect two specific items and then cleverly combine the two. Here is how to get the Ritualist Scythe in Remnant 2: The Awakened King DLC.

Where to get the Scythe Hilt and Scythe Blade

The first step to creating the Ritualist Scythe is to collect its two components: Scythe Hilt and Scythe Blade. Start by heading to The Forgotten Commune. Progress through the area as normal, until you reach a spot where you can head down some stairs into what looks like some sort of ritual room lit with purple candles. Go figure, right? Once you delve further into this room, you will see several people tied to a makeshift altar. This is actually a boss called the Befouled Altar.

Once you start attacking one of the bodies tied to the altar, the fight will start and you will see the boss’ HP start depleting. The boss itself does not attack, but it summons waves of enemies from the area to attack you. They can get a bit overwhelming in these narrow corridors, but take it slow and steady and do not switch back to damaging the boss until the adds are dead and stop spawning.

After defeating the Befouled Altar, it will drop the Scythe Hilt or Scythe Blade. Now it’s time to get the other piece. Simply ascend further up The Forgotten Commune. Once you reach the top area, you will once again see an area with purple-lit candles leading to another makeshift altar. Yep, you guessed it! Time to defeat another Befouled Altar. The encounter is exactly the same, just in a different narrow room. Defeating the Befouled Altar will grant you the other Scythe item, and you can now create the Ritualist Scythe.

How to Craft the Ritualist Scythe in Remnant 2: The Awakened King DLC

With both pieces in your possession, open your inventory and choose to inspect the Scythe Hilt. Move it around on the screen until the top part is facing toward the screen, and you will see an interact button pop up as you see in the screenshot above. Push the interact key and it will ask you which item you want to combine with the Scythe Hilt.

I’m sure you already guessed it, but you want to combine the Scythe Blade with the Scythe Hilt. This will create the ultimate Rituatlist melee weapon, the Ritualist Scythe! This is an incredible weapon for the Ritualist Arcthetype, as it increases the melee damage you do if your target is suffering from a Negative Status Effect, which they should. After all, that’s the primary build for Ritualist!
