How to get the Grapple Glove in Fortnite OG

Normal-Man! Normal-Man! Doesn't have the moves of Spider-Man!

Fortnite OG fever is entering its second week of hype, and that means new (or familiar) locations, items, and weapons to make clever use of to dispatch enemies. In the most recent micro-update, Epic Games brought back a number of weapons from Chapter 1, Season 6, but one item introduced in Chapter 3, Season 3 is making a return: the Grapple Glove.

It might seem odd, in a season all about returning to the earliest point in Fortnite’s history, to bring in an item that was available as soon as August 2022. But, if it helps, the Grapple Glove is quite difficult to find, so it can’t exactly be abused. If you’re having trouble locating this elusive item, read on to learn how to nab one for yourself!

How to get the Grapple Glove in Fortnite OG

I said the Grapple Glove could be hard to find, but that might be an understatement. To find one of these aerodynamic devices, you’ll essentially have to be in the right place at the right time. They are primarily available by interacting with a rift that may or may not materialize anywhere near your location.

Thanks to a video posted to Twitter by gaming YouTuber Tabor Hill, we have some idea of what this rift looks like. As soon as it’s materialized, it’ll manifest as what looks to be a piece of bent metal with a metal station covered with pink/purple paint covering it at its base.

There should be an NPC here, which should be the only NPC available in Fortnite OG. The toolbox here is the only known method of securing a Grapple Glove as of writing, aside from finding someone else who has found this rift, eliminating them and looting it from their remains. But who knows? Maybe that will change as we get closer to Fortnite’s next release.
