How to get the Tek Binoculars in ARK: Survival Ascended

In ARK: Survival Ascended, developer Studio Wildcard opted to evolve the Electronic Binoculars even further. The upgraded version of the Binoculars are extremely useful, and the best version we’ve had access to yet. Here is how to get the Tek Binoculars in ARK: Survival Ascended.

How to unlock the Tek Binoculars Tekgram

In order to craft the Tek Binoculars, you first need to acquire the Tekgram. Unlike the previous Electronic Binoculars Tekgram which could just be found in any Lootcrate, the new Tek Binoculars have a new way of being obtained.

You can unlock the Tek Binoculars Tekgram by defeating the Overseer Alpha, one of the four bosses on The Island in ARK: Survival Ascended. Technically, the Overseer is considered the final boss, so the Tek Binoculars Tekgram is certainly a late-game item.

In order to summon the Overseer, you must have first defeated the other three bosses: Broodmother, Megapithecus, and Dragon. Once you have defeated all three, and obtained their Trophy, you will also need to farm some extra materials:

• Alpha Raptor Claw
• Alpha Carnotaurus Arm
• Alpha Tyrannosaur Tooth
• Alpha Megalodon Fin
• Alpha Mosasaur Tooth
• Alpha Tusoteuthis Eye
• Alpha Leedsichthys Blubber

As you can see, all of the required items are Alpha materials, meaning you can only obtain them by defeating the higher-elevel Alpha variants of creatures on The Island. Once you have all the materials, travel to the Tek Cave in the central Volcano on The Island and you can summon the Overseer.

Once you defeat the Overseer, you will receive the Tek Binoculars Tekgram.

How to craft the Tek Binoculars

Now that you have the Tek Binoculars, Tekgram, you can craft the item at a Tek Replicator. The materials required to craft the Tek Binoculars are:

• 50 Crystal
• 50 Metal Ingot
• 25 Obsidian
• 10 Electronics

With all these materials, you can craft the Tek Binoculars. This version of the Binoculars are much better than those that were in ARK: Sruvival Evolved because they can be used on tames just like the Spyglass. You can use the Tek Binoculars to scan a dinosaur and find out everything you need to know about it including its Level, type, tame information, and stats.
