Spider-Man 2: How to complete Hard Bop mission – My Community trophy guide

Thieves give Miles the blues.

The ‘My Community’ trophy is one of many you can earn in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a good one to go for, as the final mission to earn it, ‘Hard Bop’, also gives you a new suit for Miles to wear in Spider-Man 2.

The My Community trophy is awarded after you complete the two Cultural Museum missions. They come available after you finish the main story mission, ‘Funky’, in which Miles attempts to stop a robbery at a museum celebrating jazz and blues history. One of the thieves’ trucks gets away, however. For the museum to survive, you need to find all the stolen instruments.

Steps to complete the Hard Bop mission

To begin the Cultural Museum missions, swing over to the quest icon that looks like a brass trumpet on the mini-map. You can only play these missions as Miles, so be sure to change to him before you begin.

The first mission, Bebop, begins with Miles meeting up with his mom. It’s a helpful conversation, and Miles eventually makes his way to the museum where he oversees an argument between the museum curator, Angela, and Darren, a wealthy socialite. Darren was apparently planning to support the museum, which is suffering due to a lack of funding. But now he’s considering pulling out because of apparent the lack of security.

After doing some science, Miles tracks down the truck but only manages to recover a saxophone once played by Charlie Parker. The guy who hired the thieves wants it back, and Miles uses one of their phones to trick the buyer into meeting on a rooftop. With this, Bebop is completed and you can start Hard Bop.

How to complete Hard Bop

The thieves’ boss turns out to be none other than Darren, who believes the instruments belong to him. What a punk. Take out Darren’s entourage, who have turned against him since they haven’t been paid. Once that’s done, pick Darren’s sorry ass off the ground and listen to him try to lie his way out. More enemies show up, which allows Darren to run off. But he doesn’t get far.

Darren tries to drive off, but Miles is in hot pursuit. A car full of thieves is chasing after Darren as well, so you’ll need to take them out first. You need to take out both cars by swinging in close enough and pressing the triangle button. The last you see of Darren is him getting arrested, and karma is restored.

The final scene of Hard Bop takes place in the museum, now with its instruments returned and a brighter future. Take a look around and soak in the history — it’s a beautiful and emotional scene, so you should take your time. Once finished, meet up with Miles’ mom and the mission is complete.

How to unlock the City Sounds suit in Spider-Man 2

After you complete the Hard Bop mission, you earn the My Community trophy in Spider-Man 2. The mission awards you 10 Hero Tokens, 200 Tech Parts, and 1,200 experience points. You also get the City Sounds suit for Miles, which lets him dress like a spider-themed old-school blues musician. They’re some nice threads and come with your choice of four different styles.
