What happens after you beat Spider-Man 2? Is there a NG+?

You'll unlock Ultimate Difficulty

A lot of AAA games handle their New Game+/postgames differently, and a few don’t even have them (I know!). Let’s break down what happens after you roll credits on Spider-Man 2, and what you can do afterward.

After beating Spider-Man 2, you’ll unlock Ultimate Difficulty, and can continue your current file

Directly after watching all three credit/post-credit scenes in Spider-Man 2, you’ll pop right back into New York with your prior save file. A prompt will inform you of the following:

“You have finished the main story, but both Peter and Miles are still available to continue the adventure. You can now start a fresh adventure with Ultimate Difficulty. Good luck, Hero!”

As you can see, beating the game results in two options: you can continue this current save file and go for a 100% completion rating, or you can kick off a completely new save file on the Ultimate Difficulty setting. You’ll have to use everything you’ve learned so far to actually make any progress, since enemies hit a lot harder.

So where is New Game+ in Spider-Man 2?

As confirmed by Insomniac director James Stevenson, New Game+ will be coming as part of a post-launch update, and will not be in the game on day one.
