Initial Assassin’s Creed Mirage sales numbers seem impressive

“We are proud to [..] share that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the biggest New Gen launch in terms of units sales to date at Ubisoft (PS5, Xbox Series X-S),” said Ubisoft in a social media post thanking its audience. “A big congratulations to the Bordeaux Studio and all its partners in the project for this accomplishment.”

Ubisoft did not give specific numbers as to how Assassin’s Creed Mirage has sold. However, we now know it has initially sold better in its first week than the likes of Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

Some of the stats celebrated the occasion are kind of fun, too. So far, players have spent 479 collective years parkouring the rooftops of Baghdad. Assassins also took 60 million Leaps of Faith. Then there’s the most important, we’ve pet 1.2 million street cats.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a stroll away from the massive open-world formula of recent titles like Valhalla and Odyssey. It’s in a smaller space in Baghdad with a focus on the core stealth gameplay. Perhaps this approach appeals to lapsed fans of the series. It is also at a cheaper price point of $49.99.

“For the most part, Mirage achieves its goal of returning to its assassin ways,” says our review. “But in some ways, it also shows me why Ubisoft made the decision to take the franchise in a new direction in the first place.”
