Where can you find Stun Gun ammo in Sons of the Forest?

For the non-lethal option.

Sons of the Forest contains an embarrassment of lethal weaponry with which you can carve a path through waves of mutants and cannibals. But sometimes, peace can be an option. Well, not exactly. You can arm yourself with the non-lethal Stun Gun for some quick takedowns, however. The Stun Gun can’t be used forever in Sons of the Forest, though, and you’ll need to stock up on ammo. Here’s where you can find it.

You can find Stun Gun ammo scattered all around Sons of the Forest. Most ammo types in the game tend to randomly generate in supply chests, crates, and on the floors of caves. Check around campsites and cannibal villages. It’s rare, like all other ammunition, but vigilance does pay off for those who like to break into boxes for rewards.

Where to look for Stun Gun ammo in Sons of the Forest

The ammo can show up practically anywhere, but there are some places where it spawns more often than others. As mentioned, the various camps in the game are often a good place to start. To find them, all you need to do is walk down the game’s many snaking trails and keep an eye out for multi-colored tents. Cannibal villages are also prime places for looting opportunities, but you could have a fight on your hands. Caves are great for rare ammo drops since that’s where you’ll find the most action against mutants. Another place you can try is the helicopter crash site where you first spawned into the game. Keep an eye out for the Stun Gun ammo box, which is black and orange.

Ultimately, there is no easy way to get Stun Gun ammo in Sons of the Forest. Firearms are the most powerful weapons in the game. Making ammo for them quick to find would kind of mess with the overall balance. You’re meant to gather supplies slowly before the final push to the end. It’s a bummer, for sure, since you shouldn’t sleep on the Stun Gun. It incapacitates an enemy for about 15-20 seconds — plenty of time to introduce your ax to their neck.

How to better your chances of getting loot fast

If you’re not patient, you can use an item respawn exploit. Look for a camp or cave with supply boxes near a sleeping/save point. Loot the area and then save the game. Leave and reload your game, and the boxes should be refreshed.
