Resident Evil commercial montage is more weird than scary

I’m man enough to admit that Resident Evil‘s tense settings and jump-out-and-scare moments have me freaked while playing. I think it’s a pretty scary game series. Well, except for Resident Evil 5. My impressions so far are that it isn’t scary at all. I mean, how scary can it be when you’re doing the buddy cop thing? I loved dogs jumping out of windows and the mumblings of “muerte” in my rear surround speakers. Ah, memories.

I’ve relived some of these fond memories in the international commercial collection found after the jump. The creator says that the videos are in chronological order, series-wise, from Zero to Four, plus spin-offs. He even says that there’s the banned breast feeding one in the mix, so watch out for that, pervs.

What’s striking is how these commercials aren’t scary at all. In fact, some of them are hilarious. The Japanese one four minutes in has some happy music and knee-slapping voice overs with Resident Evil imagery. Capcom marketing genius, I’d say. And at about 20 minutes, there’s a lot of crazy stuff in here to see.
