Top Three Best Katanas in Cyberpunk 2077

Time to get your weeb on.

Let’s face it: there’s something undoubtedly cool about katanas. Wielded by some of history’s fiercest warriors, the katana is an iconic weapon. This is doubly true if it is one of the Iconic variants in Cyberpunk 2077. While there aren’t too many of these weapons available when compared to the plethora of guns, there are a few that stand out. Here are the best katanas in Night City and where to find them.

What are the best katanas in Cyberpunk 2077?

Satori

Satori is found toward the end of Act 1 during The Heist. Specifically, it is found inside the AV parked on the rooftop landing pad. The Iconic Perk grants V the ability to leap towards enemies. Additionally, V can perform a Quickdraw Attack while Satori is sheathed to inflict Bleeding. Should the foe already be bleeding, they will instead be afflicted by Hemorrhage, which restores health to V.

For a nasty one-two punch, the companion knife, Nehan, can be looted from Saburo Arasaka during the same mission. It has the same Perk as Satori while also dealing bonus damage.

As if a katana wasn’t cool enough, one that can inflict burning and subsequently land a critical on a burning enemy might as well be the Fonz of folded steel. This blade is one of Cyberpunk 2077’s best katanas hands-down and was added in with the 2.0 Update but is actually acquired early on in Act 2. V can find it inside the forge of the Electric Corporation power plant during the Disasterpiece mission.

Jinchu-Maru

Jinchu-Maru is a situational blade and one I would advise using in conjunction with another. An example would be Satori and Nehan with Jinchu-Maru. The reason for this is that while the former two are good in multiple scenarios, Jinchu-Maru specializes in fighting groups.

Once looted from Sandayu Oda during the Play It Safe mission, V should head straight for a Ripperdoc and install a Kerenzikov. When that piece of cyberware activates, Jinchu-Maru’s modifier triggers, which increases critical strike chance by 100%. This pairs with the Perk, where the final strike of any combo hits for double damage. Finally, to fully maximize the potential, V should run as a glass cannon as Jinchu-Maru will always deal twice the damage against enemies with twice V’s health. It’s a high-risk/high-reward weapon.

Players who want to make the best katanas build in Cyberpunk 2077 will want to invest heavily in the Reflexes tree. The entire right branch is designed specifically for blades with perks allowing V to use them more effectively, perform finishers, and even deflect bullets! Time to be the silent blade that strikes terror into the hearts of Night City’s criminals.
