If you like Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask and want a shiny version of it, I have bad news for you. You can use a trick to see it, but you can’t have it.
Bloodmoon Ursaluna is shiny locked in The Teal Mask, which means it’s impossible for you to catch or own a shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna. Even if you somehow get a shiny Teddiursa or Ursaring in Scarlet and Violet, you would have to transfer them to Pokémon Legends: Arceus via Pokémon HOME to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna using a Peat Block on a full moon. The problem is that you would get the standard shiny Ursaluna this way, and the Pokémon would stay in its original Hisuian form when transferred back to Scarlet and Violet.
However, doing so is precisely the trick you can do that proves shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna exists in the game in some capacity. Here’s how to see it.
How to see shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna in The Teal Mask
You can see Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s shiny form only in your Pokédex by transferring a shiny Ursaluna from Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Scarlet and Violet using Pokémon HOME. Once you do so, open your Pokédex in Ursaluna’s entry and press up or down on the D-Pad to see its shiny form.
Even though you can see the shiny version, you can’t catch it, breed it, or transform the standard Bloodmoon Ursaluna you catch during Perrin’s quest. We know the second DLC, The Indigo Disk, will bring new Pokémon and returning regional forms, but it’s unknown if you’ll be able to get a shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna when it releases.
Shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna vs. standard comparison
Shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna has orange fur instead of brown fur. Its mud armor has the same gray color as the original, so the fur color is the only difference between the two. Check the comparison below.
