It seems developer WayForward’s been in the news a lot lately. First with its well-received WiWare title Lit, and then making waves with their upcoming A Boy and His Blob revival for the Wii.
Now it’s been revealed that the developer is working on an exclusive title for Nintendo’s portable downloadable service, DSiWare. The title in question is called Mighty Flip Champs. Players control a female heroine named Alta as she warms through chambers by flipping through them like pages in a book. The puzzle/platformer doesn’t currently have a price or release date, but we should hear more closer to the launch of the Nintendo DSi on April 5.
Like WayForward, we’ve heard that many developers are keeping a close eye on the DSiWare service, seeing it as a way to circumvent the already crowded DS retail market. The rumor mill has also been squeaking with word of developers in talks with Nintendo about giving their older DS games second life on the service. Reportedly, Nintendo has been open to suggestions like these, which could indicate that we’ll see a strong DSiWare library in the months to come.
If you’ve already made the decision to pick up a DSi this year, does the DSiWare service appeal to you? Or do you have different reasons for upgrading your hardware?
